Join us for an exclusive photo installation honoring the delegates of the 1950 National Urban League Conference. The exhibition will feature the iconic commemorative photograph taken on the historic steps of the Welsh Auditorium.

In September 1950, delegates of the National Urban League Conference came to Grand Rapids and stayed at the Pantlind Hotel—now the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. Their presence marked a historic breaking of the color line at a major hotel and represented an important step toward greater dignity, access and equality.
